A SIZZZZZZLING BLOW...?
In rain drain situation in the nation, comes a news from our(?) government about the price hike in Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and LPG. When the whole nation is awaiting some good shower that can soothe people's soul and life, such sizzling hot news has been released from 'Aam aadmi ki Sarkar' to burn aam aadmi along with sustaining summer heat. In a major decision to bring petroleum products in line with market rates, the government today freed petrol from all pricing controls. Oil Secretary S Sundareshan announced after the meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers.
And now Diesel will be Rs.2 costlier, Petrol Rs.3.73, kerosene Rs.3 and LPG Rs.35.
As said by him, The move will help boost profits of state-run oil firms that have been losing revenue from government-set lower prices. But what about the common man's home? Will it be able to sustain the inhabitants' common life to bare minimum possible? Moreover, today the dearness(wait, wait, wait, how come is it dear?) is increasing by leaps and bounds and the government seems interested not in controlling it but accelerating it by such actions. A price hike in oil products makes most of the things costlier and so this will be a fatal blow on people's life. Our government has worry for Multi-national companies' ill health but not its people's; surprisingly shocking, isn't it? If the prices are to be market rate, before a year or so the prices in world market touched 140 dollars/barrel and the prices here were about Rs.55/ltr petrol. Then, the prices descended to almost 50 dollars and in a gesture to woo people govt declared about Rs.10 cut in the price and that too in installments at the time of election. Now, the price in the world market hasn't gone that far then even prices in our market are matching the previous level??? Nobody, I exactly mean no common body understands this company wooing policy. If the companies are making loss, why is the govt not cutting tax share and less burdening people? Mind you, these government runners will also misguide us by saying that the price hike was supposed to be very high but considering people's sentiments, we have given just a minor increase. And believe you me, our so called 'bholi praja' will forget and forgive them.
I still haven't understood one thing about people's mentality in India and that is; Why can't they react for their own cause? Go anywhere in India and you will find people fighting for trivial, non sense and stupid most causes but they can't unite and fight for such causes that directly relate to their life. Our fights are mostly communal and grounded on religions but not the ones that can change people's livelihood for good.
One shock after another and now we have perhaps developed into shock proof entity. We are perhaps helpless in the present condition. If we, the people won't awake, I think, our grave yard is being dug and we are awaited there. Let's see who falls prey first?
Our government has shown efficiency in giving sizzzzzling blow even in rainy season. Some more blows will come soon in the form of fake 'virodh' by opposition resulting in nothing. I bet you, even they are not favouring nation but their passion to grab the throne.
